It's time to shake your bones and turn up the volume on these spooktacular beats! 👻

Recipe: Pumpkin Pancakes

Warm, fluffy pancakes packed with nutritious pumpkin? Say less! Your little one is sure to love these as a main course or a high-fiber snack. We can already hear them saying, "More, more!” Can you?

Serving Size: 3 small pancakes

Time: 10 Minutes

Here's what you'll need...

Ingredients:

  • Butter to grease pan

  • 2 cups boxed pancake mix

  • 1/2 cup canned or homemade pumpkin puree

  • & 1/2 cups water

  • Splash of vanilla

  • Dash of cinnamon & nutmeg

  • Optional: Top with whipped cream & cinnamon

Tools/Supplies:

 Pumpkin Pancakes

Directions: 

  1. Pour pancake mix and water into your mixing bowl and combine with a spoon.

  2. Stir until the batter is smooth.

  3. Add all other ingredients and mix thoroughly.

  4. Scoop the desired amount of pancake mix into the frying pan.

  5. Flip pancake after 2-3 minutes of cooking on medium to low heat.

  6. Repeat steps 4-5 until you’ve finished all the batter.

  7. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

  8. Enjoy!

Disclaimers: Serve once your child is 6 months + and has started solids. Consult with your physician before offering new foods.

Activity: Pumpkin Prints

What You’ll Need:

  • Paper or canvas

  • Paint brush

  • Non-toxic orange paint

  • Non-toxic brown and green markers

  • Optional: a fresh sponge to lightly dab paint onto your little one’s hand

Pumpkin Handprints

Directions:

  1. Paint the palm of your little one’s hand with orange paint. *For a more defined print — especially for itty bitty hands — dab a fresh sponge in the paint, and then lightly wipe it across their palm.

  2. Pointing their fingers towards the top of the page, gently press their hand onto the center of the paper or canvas.

  3. Repeat with the opposite hand, overlapping slightly, to create a pumpkin.

  4. Wash those little hands with soap and water.

  5. Using a brown and green marker, add a stem and vines.

  6. Write “Our Little Pumpkin” beneath their creation. Hang the art somewhere in your home!
